Glengarriff Family Fun Day on August 8th
The annual Glengarriff Family Fun day will be held as usual in the Blue Pool Amenity Area in Glengarriff on Sunday August 8th. All the usual attractions for both children and adults will be on show on the day. The event, which is in aid of Glengarriff Community Hall, usually pulls a capacity crowd and the location in the Park next to the Playground makes it an ideal destination for an afternoon’s entertainment. The organizing committee are looking for extra volunteers this year. A number of our stalwart helpers will unavoidably be missing for the day so extra muscle power is needed for the installation of the stands in the morning, manning the stalls during the event and dismantling in the evening. Well done to all concerned with organising such a fun day out. Thankfully the weather was on its best behaviour for a change! Unfortunately my time was limited due to work commitments but it was lovely to see such a varied stock of animals from the drake to the Jacob sheep. Hopefully lots of funds were raised for the community hall.
