€ 10,000 for Pitch Improvements
THE community of Glengarriff rose to the challenge of putting together an impressive submission and collecting 500 tokens, which made them Munster finalists in the Kellogg’s Field of Dreams competition and won €10,000 towards pitch improvements. Individuals within the community volunteered information, photographs, poems and songs, all of which contributed to the success of the application. Thanks were extended to all who sponsored the purchase of Kellogg’s, some of which was donated to CoAction and the Simon Community in Cork city, and to those who supported the Cake and Cornflakes Sale. The submission was formatted by Micheal McCarthy, Inchintaggart, and Toby at Fast.net in Bantry who
did the printing, binding etc. This is phase one of the competition; next phase is done by text vote with the overall winner getting a €100,000 makeover for their community pitch. The winner will be announced on the Late Late Show in November. With everybody working together this is very achievable and would be a great boost for the community.
